This year’s event cycle opens and ends with Greece’s two most important composers, international and world-renowned Manos Hadjidakis and Mikis Theodorakis. Manos Hadjidakis defined the landscape of Greek music and modern Greek culture as few in number. His quests and influences have led him down many different paths. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the fruits of his creative seeds can be found on the four corners of the horizon. Konstantinos Rigos was inspired by this landscape for the choreography, in which he travels to the four points of the horizon of Hajjidakian work, including so many emblematic works in a modular representation.

The end of the Festival is marked this year by the Mikis Theodorakis Orchestra, which wishes the Nicosia International Festival and the Municipality of Nicosia to honor the Eternal Greeks Mikis. As part of the concert and after decision of the City Council, the rue du Musée (street in front of the Nicosia Municipal Theater) will be renamed rue Miki Theodoraki.
